Eng. Guide Index The Fruitful Dragon-Flite conveyor is an efficient, high performance alternative to conventional means of material handling. Because the material is moved En-Masse, horsepower requirements can be as much as half of that of alternative means of conveyance. The Horsepower (HP) requirements of a Dragon-Flite conveyor can be

Eng. Guide Index All Fruitful Dragon-Flite drag conveyors use En-Masse conveying for compact, efficient, and high volume delivery. All capacities are shown in cubic feet per hour. Dragon-Flite capacities are calculated at the maximum fill level for each unit size and allow for easy selection based on your conveying needs.

Selecting the right chain for a given application is essential to obtain long service life. This guide has been developed for use with Renold conveyor chain to help in specifying the right chain and lubrication for your conveyor system. The significance of the Renold conveyor chain design is emphasised, followed by guidance on selection procedure.

(2.9) Chain and Material Elevated Vertically . Note for (2.1) & (2.5) Chain and material sliding in scraper and drag link conveyors to calculate chain pull additional parameters must be included. F2 = Coefficiency of Friction between material to be moved and sides of trough. L = portion of loaded conveyor. M = Mass of product to be carried.

CALCULATION Required data for chain calculation Required operation data Please add a sketch of the conveyor layout. Please describe operation conditions (e.g.abrasive conditions, environmental conditions, special operation requirements) in detail. Please describe product features in detail, add drawings/sketches. Replacement of chain/belts

A typical drag or paddle conveyor uses 45-50% of available conveying space. En-Masse Drag Conveyors use 90% of the available conveying space to effectively move material. As a result, the overall size of En-Masse Drag Conveyors is greatly reduced when compared to other conveying systems and technologies moving the same volume.

4. Select a suitable conveyor belt speed. 5. Convert the desired tonnage per hour (tph) to be conveyed to the equivalent in cubic feet per hour (ft3/hr). (ex. 1000 tph x 2000 60 = 33333 ft3/hr) 6. Convert the desired capacity in cubic feet per hour to the equivalent capacity at a belt speed of 100 fpm.

We provide you with the basic calculations for the determination of chain speed, capacity per hour, weight of the material to be conveyed, as well as the calculation of the required power. With these data, you can create the basic framework for the calculation of a conveyor. Bechtel will be happy to assist you with interpretation questions.

This required horsepower calculator is provided for reference only. It provides a reasonable estimation of required horsepower given user requirements. Superior Industries is not responsible for discrepancies that may occur between this calculation and actual results.

If you're sizing a motor for a conveyor in an industrial plant, what other data other than the voltage (likely 480V in north america) and the mass of the load do you have readily available. Companies that manufacture conveyor systems probably have software tools that calculate the motor size for them.
